Living in America

from An American Wake

Ah... I've stumbled to find my way and I feel I'm home right now
I'm living in America

I really don't know what's going on inside my head
I got tangled up in the smallest webs in this dead end town.
My father said 'son you've got a choice, you can leave right now,
Or finish school and head out when you're done'.

It's like waking to find, the walls that held you in are paper thin.
It's like breaking a smile when every face is turned.

Ah... I've stumbled to find my way and I feel I'm home right now
I'm living in America

I feel like my eyes just opened up in this Northeast town
I settled in and let my life begin again.
I said my goodbyes 3000 miles from where I stand
To a different sense of humor
To a different kind of life.
